Box set containing four films from the popular 'Batman' film
series. 'Batman' (1989) was the first big screen outing for Bob
Kane's caped crusader. The streets of Gotham City are no longer
safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante
in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander
Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim
Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an
investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious
millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss
Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of
untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go
according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally -
disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the
psychotic Joker. In 'Batman Returns' (1992), Oswald Cobblepot was
abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent
on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny
DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become Mayor, helped
by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken); next,
he undertakes a mission to murder every first born son in Gotham -
a plan which will avenge his own beginnings. Meanwhile, he has two
adversaries to contend with: Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), the
embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck, and, of course, the old
caped crusader himself (Keaton). In 'Batman Forever' (1995), former
District Attorney Harvey Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) is terrorising
Gotham City, when a new villain appears on the scene - the Riddler
(Jim Carrey). Together they plot to discover Batman's (Val Kilmer)
identity, using a device which can probe the human mind. Meanwhile,
the caped crusader has been joined by Robin (Chris O'Donnell),
whose trapeze-artist family have recently been slain by Two-Face.
'Finally, in 'Batman and Robin' (1997), Batman (George Clooney) and
Robin (O'Donnell) have to stop the vengeful Mr Freeze (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) from taking over Gotham City by using his new ice
weapon. To make matters worse, the venomous Poison Ivy (Uma
Thurman) decides to join forces with Freeze, so making an almost
undefeatable double-whammy of a team. Luckily for the caped
crusader and his rebellious ward, they can team up with a new tough
and courageous new partner - Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).

In 1832, Washington Irving, recently returned from seventeen
years' residence abroad and eager to explore his own country,
embarked on an expedition to the country west of Arkansas set aside
for the Indians. "A Tour on the Prairies" is his absorbing account
of that journey, which extended from Fort Gibson to the Cross
Timbers in what is now Oklahoma. First published in 1835, it has
remained a perennial favorite, retaining its original freshness,
vigor, and vividness to this day.

The Tibet question is a dispute over the political status of Tibet
between the Chinese government and the Tibetan government in exile:
A battle for control. In this matter, Tibet extends far beyond the
issue of sovereignty as it raises questions about the controversy
between international law and the universality of human rights, the
classic nation-state paradigm and the modern conceptualizations of
terms underlying the issue. Both sides are written through a
different lens, defined by an ambiguous relationship between the
traditional periphery and core paradigm on one side, and a modern
nation-state system conception on the other. As the fate of a
nation once again is being threatened while the world community
stands by, one can question the capacity and the willingness of the
international community, committed to the high ideals of the United
Nations, in delivering either peace or justice. Although the
discourse of international politics in theory constitutes certain
norms and principles, the practice exposes no more than an
interest-led game. From this point of view, self-determination is a
powerful reflection of the controversial fields of international
relations.
Purchasing this book supports the reporting of the ongoing Islamic
World War. The United States, the United Nations, and NATO are
being PUNK'D and PLUNDERED in Pakistan - in the Pakistani
government sponsored, I.S.I. funded, STAGED Civil War of 2009. This
Jihad civil war is being run as a business proposition to PLUNDER
the United States and the Western world to support the Jihad
Islamic World War. Billions of dollars from the U.S., U.N., and
NATO are being redirected from humanitarian aid for the
impoverished population by the I.S.I. (Pakistan's CIA) - to fight
India in Kashmir, to arm their military to later fight India, and
just redirected to employees of the government for their own
personal enrichment. Billions of U.S. tax dollars have already been
redirected from Afghanistan as PLUNDER for the Jihad waging I.W.W.
- the Islamic World War.
